hey, i’m davy.

Come on in.

This is my little corner of the internet. I make things — photos, campaigns, essays, software, the occasional argument. Different tools, same person. I’m glad you’re here.

So, what is this?

Honestly? It’s hard to explain in a title. Some days I’m photographing a candy bar under studio lights. Some days I’m making a gum bichromate print in a darkroom. Some days I’m writing an essay about Dewey. Some days I’m shipping a web app at 2am.

From the outside it can look scattered. From the inside it’s pretty simple: I keep asking the same question — how can this feel more alive? — and the answer keeps showing up in different rooms. You’re about to walk through some of them.

Some things I’ve made.

A few things I actually believe.

Not a manifesto. Just some things I’ve come to think are true, in case you were wondering what kind of person is on the other end of the site.

Advertising should make you feel something real, not sell you something fake. Art should make you think a thought you couldn’t have thought without it. Optimism is a discipline — it’s something you do, not something you have. Almost everything gets better when you put the sacred next to the silly. And I’m pretty sure you’re already loved, whether or not anyone’s told you today.

Who’s writing this?

That would be me. I’m a person living in Media, PA who makes things. Photography, advertising, essays, software. Different tools, same person, mostly the same set of questions.
